It’s been a while since our last diary, I know. We’ve been busy with fundraising and not as busy developing. Speaking of, we’ll be one of the startups at the Rio WebSummit this month, with a booth set up on Wednesday, the 17th. We’re looking forward to the opportunity to show UniKaos to whoever dares answer our trivia questions. We’re also the only gaming startup selected for their startup showcase activities.
We’ve been producing YouTube content to jumpstart our community. It’s extremely difficult to upload one video per week, so we’re trying to upload every other week. The crazy nature of our videos just make it impossible to upload consistently. I’ve had challenges that took 8 days to complete! In our coming video, I watch 20 of the worst films ever made. That’s more than 34 hours of visual hell. You heard it here first. We’re still editing it!
Our YouTube community has grown since we started back in November, and we’re now at 726 subscribers. If you’re one of those subs, thank you so much for supporting us.
As far as development goes, we’re still porting our game and getting more familiar with Unreal Engine 5. We’re now playing around with netcoding, which is super important for smooth multiplayer gameplay. We’ve also identified some cool Unreal plugins that have given us some crazy new gameplay ideas that we’re super excited to try these out, while hoping they perform on mobile devices.
When we start full production, I will post dev diaries consistently. Until then, the best place to get our updates is our YouTube channel, or our social media accounts.
Usually I end these diaries with “see you in two weeks”, but I think it’s better to say:
See you when I have something cool to share with you!
Lucas
